Welcome to my corner of the digital savanna. I’m Simon Beevers, a wildlife photographer whose journey began in the quiet hills of rural Devon and eventually found its true home in the wild spaces of South Africa.

The African bush is where everything comes alive for me. It’s where I’ve spent countless hours with a camera in hand — waiting as a lioness steps into the light, watching a lilac‑breasted roller flash past in a burst of colour, or listening to the low rumble of elephants drifting across the plains. These moments shape my work and keep me returning to the wilderness again and again.

My photography is about capturing behaviour, atmosphere, and the small details that define Africa’s wildlife: elephants glowing at sunset, leopards draped over marula branches, lions crossing floodplains, and the endless variety of birdlife that colours every dawn. From the waterways of the Okavango Delta to the open grasslands of Busanga Plains, each trip adds another chapter to a continent that never stops surprising me.

This site is a collection of those encounters — a visual safari through the places and animals that inspire me.
